WASHINGTON - When he visited New York on January 4th, Governor Ricardo Rosselló met with people close to President-elect Donald Trump. This came about at a time when—according to sources—he would like to revive the idea that the federal Treasury will guarantee a short-term loan for the government of Puerto Rico, in order to deal with the immediate lack of liquidity before a restructuring of the debt.
